Welcome to the web page for the Bridges group at the University of California at Santa Cruz.

Led by Professor Frank Bridges, physics students at the undergraduate and graduate level pursue research in condensed matter physics, probing the structure of various materials by the XAFS method of X-Ray spectroscopy, and exploring the properties of ice mixtures at low temperatures in order to understand better the formation of comets, the outer planets, and Saturn's rings.
